Alle Kinderkrankheiten von **SIP Trunks** wurden in den letzten Jahren beseitigt. Im Zusammenspiel mit der passenden PBX sind Trunks mittlerweile hochzuverlässig. Auch nicht SIP-fähige Anlagen können problemlos mit einem Media Gateway an die PBX angeschlossen werden. In Qualität und Ausfallsicherheit unterscheiden sich die **SIP Trunk-Anbieter** nicht mehr. Man muss sich Zuverlässigkeit also längst nicht mehr durch höhere Preise erkaufen. Alleinstellungsmerkmale sind nun lediglich noch Kosten und Funktionsumfang. Daher findet in Hinsicht auf die Features ein Wettrüsten der **SIP Trunk-Anbieter** statt, um die Kunden von sich zu überzeugen. Bis dato kostenpflichtige Dienstleistungen wie **Konferenzen, Callthrough, Fax2Mail, Web2Fax, Web2SMS** und viele mehr werden dem Kunden nun zunehmend kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt. Aber wie ist es unterwegs, auf Geschäftsreise oder im Urlaub? Was wäre, wenn man den schnellen Internetanschluss samt WLAN überall mit hinnehmen könnte? Die sogenannten Homespots – kleine Router, die ihr Signal per LTE erhalten und ein WLAN-Netz aussenden - machen das möglich. Mit so einer Box  ist man an keinen festen Ort gebunden. Einzig eine Steckdose und ein Mobilfunk-Signal des Netzanbieters müssen zur Verfügung stehen. Die kleinen und kompakten Geräte lassen sich gut überall mit hinnehmen, die Nutzung ist allerdings auf das Inland begrenzt. Mit **Vodafones GigaCube** ging 2017 der erste mobile Hotspot an den Start. Es folgten 2018 **der Business Spot** von o2 und jetzt ganz aktuell die **Speedbox der Deutschen Telekom**.
