Auch im Bereich der Vernetzung von Industrieprodukten gibt es ständig neue Entwicklungen. Mit Vodafone Modbus Cloud Connect gibt es nun ein innovatives IoT Produkt für eine direkte und vor allem einfache Verbindung von Modbus-Geräten in der Cloud. ****   ![maxresdefault](https://www.municall.de/hs-fs/hubfs/maxresdefault.jpg?width=396&height=223&name=maxresdefault.jpg) Was ist Modbus? Das Modbus-Protokoll ist ein Kommunikationsprotokoll, das auf einer Client/Server-Architektur basiert. Es wurde 1979 von Gould-[Modicon](https://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Modicon&action=edit&redlink=1) für die Kommunikation mit seinen speicherprogrammierbaren Steuerungen ins Leben gerufen. In der Industrie hat sich der Modbus zu einem De-facto-Standard entwickelt, da es sich um ein offenes Protokoll handelt. Bedeutet? Die Daten vieler Industrie-Maschinen - auch sehr viele ältere Modelle - können nun sehr einfach in die Cloud gebracht werden, indem man an das Modbus-Protokoll anknüpft und die vormals kabelgebundenen Daten nun kabellos überträgt.  Durch die direkte Verbindung über Narrowband-IoT und LTE-M können Modbus-Geräte per Plug & Work in der Cloud verbunden und damit die Vorteile der digitalen Fernwartung und Fernsteuerung genutzt werden. Dabei spielt es keine Rolle, ob es sich um neue Geräte handelt oder um vorhandene Modbus-RTU-Bestandsgeräte. Durch die Verbindung mit der vorhandenen Modbus-RTU-Schnittstelle können auch diese Geräte problemlos in die Cloud integriert werden. Das Self-Service-Portal ermöglicht eine intuitive Einrichtung des Systems rund um die Uhr und von überall. Das Onboarding, d.h. die Inbetriebnahme, kann sogar über einen QR-Code gestartet werden. Vorkonfigurierte Cloudadapter vereinfachen zudem die Weiterleitung der Daten an vorhandene IoT-Plattformen über HTTP oder MQTT. Ein persönlicher Support begleitet die Kunden dabei und steht bei Fragen zur Verfügung. Die Vorteile von Modbus Cloud Connect liegen auf der Hand. Unternehmen können Service und Wartung optimieren, Kosten und Zeit sparen und die Datenkommunikation autark von anderer Kommunikationsinfrastruktur via Narrowband-IoT und LTE-M absichern. Doch das ist noch nicht alles. Mit Modbus Cloud Connect stehen noch weitere Funktionen zur Verfügung: - Das Remote Monitoring ermöglicht den Zugriff auf bereits vorhanden Sensoren – immer und überall – damit reduzieren sich operative Aufwände deutlich - Mit Remote Control kann jederzeit auf Aktoren und Geräte zugegriffen werden - Mit sogenannter Predictive Maintenance sind Wartungen perfekt planbar und Ausfälle werden durch ein Frühwarnsystem vermieden  Die vier Bestandteile von Vodafone Modbus Cloud Connect umfassen die CE-zertifizierte Hardware, den vorinstallierten SIM-Chip mit inkludiertem Mobilfunktarif für Narrowband-IoT und LTE-M, das Self-Service-Portal für die Geräteverwaltung, sowie technische Hilfestellungen bei Inbetriebnahme und Betrieb durch einen qualifizierten Service-Desk. Ein Praxisbeispiel: ALMiG nutzt das IoT-Produkt Modbus Cloud Connect von Vodafone und grandcentrix, um seine Druckluft-Systeme zu digitalisieren. Die Vernetzung der Kompressoren mit der Cloud ermöglicht umfangreiche Anwendungen von Statusüberwachung und Asset Management über die Analyse und Visualisierung von Maschinen-Einsätzen und -Auslastungen bis zur Predictive Maintenance. Endlich wird transparent, wo die Maschine steht, wie sie genutzt wird und ob schon bald ein Seviceeinsatz fällig wird. Vodafone Modbus Cloud Connect ist ein innovativer Alleskönner.
